We could have used a little more cowbell

Mitch and Nan's Halloween party was fun and hilarious to boot, but I'll get to that in a minute. The night was filled with surprises. First of all, being the procrastinator that I am, I didn't try anything on before hand and thought I'd just wing it with my hair and makeup. By hair I mean wig of course, and it was like an Olympic event trying to get all of my hair up under that tiny thing. Don't think I'll be doing that again anytime soon. But finally I got everything put together pretty nicely and Riley rolled the top of his pants up about ten times (he has short legs) and we were good to go. Check out this smashing pair:

Do we look like a couple of bootleggers or what? Riley makes the perfect "Uncle Carmine". Before heading to the party a few of us couples dined at Applebee's in all of our get-up. It was also Pasco's Homecoming night, so it was packed with people and I'm sure we made quite the entrance. Here's a picture of us gals waiting to be seated:

Yep, that's us wild and crazy gals. Natalie was Daphne from Scooby Doo, Lisa's costume was really cute but wouldn't fit in the restaurant (it was an oven) and Kristen was "Fire".

After eating our fill of delicious food, we headed over to Mitch and Nan's and saw these guys:

Mitch and Nancie are so much fun and are the best hosts. I love how they make it easy for everyone to have a good time. It was an interesting night, with a little "To Catch a Predator" mixed in with some SNL humor, and even more surprises. Here are some more pictures from the party, hope no one minds that I'm putting them on here.

The Incredibles

The donkey looks kind of tired in this picture.

A little cowbell anyone? and isn't that a cute gingerbread man?

The Fireman and the fire, I'm so mad I didn't get Kristen's shoes in this picture. They were to die for!

Napoleon and Deb

Popeye and Olive Oyl

Anyone feel like robbing a bank?

Chris Hansen from Dateline came to round up a few "predators"

My throat hurt so bad by the end of the night from laughing so hard. It was so fun to get dressed up and the only thing that could have made it better was just a little more cowbell!

Costume scheming and hunting

Tomorrow night we will be attending a famous Halloween party. The kind that makes you stress about your costume because you know how cool other people's will be. This is to be taken very seriously and with much thought, but as usual, here it is the night before and I am still scrambling to bring it all together. Despite my lack of creativity in the dress-up department, I know we will be in for a smashing good time. Who says kids get to have all of the fun on Halloween? Boo-ha-ha!

Geek Day

This week is spirit week at Kendle's school and every day they have a different dress up day. Monday was Geek Day-

She was excited to dress up and participate in something fun. When I went to pick her up from school though, my heart dropped because there was only one other kid in her class who dressed up that day. Her teacher didn't dress up either, what fun is that for your students? Didn't people get the memo? I think she was kind of embarrassed and hasn't wanted to dress up anymore the last couple of days, but tomorrow is "Super Hero" day so I'm hoping I can convince her to try it again.
