Last night as I was literally walking out the door with the kids to head to the Blue and Gold Banquet, Kendle starts freaking out and yelling that her tooth fell out. [One of her top middle teeth has been loose for weeks and weeks.] She was half-crying, half-laughing with triumph that the darn thing finally came out on it's own. I was already running late, so we gave her mouth a quick rinse, grabbed some tissue to blot at the blood with and ran out the door.
A while later while I'm setting up and decorating at the Blue and Gold she runs up to me and is crying again with blood dribbling down her chin. Low and behold, her other middle top tooth is now really, really loose and looks like it is about to come out. It was sitting at a horribly awkward [almost comical] angle and I kept telling her she looked like she had "hill billy" teeth.
After we got home really late, she was so tired but so excited to show Riley her lost tooth and the other one that was about ready to come out. I think exhaustion and anxiety kicked in on turbo-boost because she just started crying hysterically that she wanted us to pull the loose one out, but every time we got near it she'd scream. I wiggled it a little and gave it a little pull, but I do not think it was quite ready to come out, I just felt bad thinking about sending her to school with her crazy hill billy teeth the next day.
I finally got her calmed down and in bed, and got her some more tissues for her tooth. These were her main worries:
a.) That it would come out while she was sleeping and she would swallow it.
b.) That if the other tooth did come out, she wouldn't be able to talk at school.
c.)That she wasn't going to be able to eat.
Kendle is such a worry wart [ya, I know she gets that from me] and I have to really reason with her to get her little mind to stop being in distress.
Luckily the tooth fairy remembered to pay her visit last night, or there would have been even more drama.
Sheesh......

Gotta love those dramatic tooth losing episodes!
Her other tooth last night just made me sick looking at it. Although I'm pretty queasy when it comes to losing teeth to begin with. That's good that the tooth fairy remembered to come. Good luck with the other top tooth. Maybe it will come out at school.
The Blue & Gold Banquet was a success last night. Good food and entertainment. Tyler loved the magic show.
kendle's in luck if she looses a tooth at school. they get to go to the nurse and get a cute little tooth necklace to put it in.
I saw Kendle today at school and she told me she lost a tooth. She was just coming from the office. Now I am not sure if it was from last night or if she actually lost one at school today. She is such a cute and friendly little girl. I try to wave to her on the bus every morning. Hope the tooth fairy returns soon to end the drama.
Oh, the trauma of teeth. Zack had a few teeth there that I thought would kill us all.
Glad the Tooth Fairy remembered to come. We had one occassion that she forgot (oops) so she had to come while Zack was at school.
Poor Kendle!
Glad the tooth fairy remembered to come. She has forgotten to a few times at our house.
Drama, Drama - and Kim just said exactly what I was going to say. The tooth fairy has forgotten to visit our house too. And those school tooth necklaces they get at school are cool Natallie. My kids always hope their's fall out at school just to get it.
Hey Jodi, thanks for stopping by!
Oh, that Hillbilly teeth comment really made me smile...that is how we describe Ethan's PERMANENT teeth. Yep, we might be scarring him for life, but he thinks it is funny.
